A Geriatric Nursing network meta-analysis of 29 randomized trials modeled dose curves for sarcopenia. Grip strength and walking both improved from 140 MET-minutes, both turned over at the top, and each preferred a different exercise.

Redesigning meals raised older adults' protein intake by 12 grams a day, and counseling did the work
A Nutrition Reviews meta-analysis of 16 studies in adults over 50 found that redesigning ordinary meals added about 12 grams of protein a day. What made it work was individual counseling and a specific gram target, not the food itself.

Social participation tracked 22% lower death risk in older adults across 25 cohort studies
A Geriatric Nursing dose-response meta-analysis pooled 25 prospective cohorts. Older adults who took part in clubs, worship, volunteering or sport had lower all-cause mortality, and each extra session a month tracked a further drop.

Practice at brain tests hides a year of cognitive decline
Older adults get better at cognitive tests simply by taking them again. In 977 people across 2,571 assessments, that practice gain was large enough to cancel out about a year of age-related decline.
